zilker park part 2

.

It's been about a year and a half since we've been to Zilker Park. This park is one of Austin's famous landmarks, and though it has changed a lot, I remember my dad taking me to Zilker Park when I was little. Barton Springs, the snack bar and the train ride has changed very little, so I enjoyed sharing these things with you. The big red fire engine is still there, too. Years ago, they got rid of all the metal playscapes and all the wooden stumps that surrounded the park. It's barely recognizable to me, but you had tons of fun and totally loved the train ride (again!).

Waiting for the conductor to take our ticket. Hmm...will you give it to him this time? (Answer: no, you did not - but cried and changed your mind when he walked away)

I explained to you one of the most important rules of train rides: that you must wave at every single person along the way. You totally nailed this! You were even waiving at squirrels, birds, and bushes!

After we left the playscape, we walked along the hiking trails where you ran, and ran, and ran some more!

Last time we went to Zilker Park, you were this little. A little nervous and very stoic during the entire ride. So amazing to see how much you've changed and grown in the past year!

We topped off the evening with burgers and malts at Sandy's. Definitely doing this again soon!
