first ballet

Iris went to her first ballet today and she loved it!

Austin Ballet performed at the Paramount Theatre & truly created a magical and enchanting show!

There was classical ballet with tons of whimsical, eye-catching, non-traditional stuff that the kids just went crazy for. Iris loved when they turned off all the lights and they cast stars all over the theatre, everywhere around us! She loved the silly, dancing glow-in-the-dark stick figures, but especially went nuts for Mr. Sandman, who carried a teddy bear with him. "Bu! Bu!" she kept screaming. Amazingly, she sat still and entertained for the entire one-hour performance.

Stars! Or as Iris would say "ta! ta!" she clapped and laughed with sheer delight!



It was simply magical, with wonderful music and vividly colorful eye candy galore!

When we came home, Iris kept dancing like the ballerinas, round and round in circles, clapping and saying "ta! ta!" Come to think of it, she is my star!

Walking out the door this afternoon to our first ballet!

So fun! And I look forward to many more!
